New friends on the farm 🐓 Snap dragon, spirit of the wood shed Spring is popping up everywhere! The grass is green (and growing fast) I’ve got my lawnmowers (the sheep) working day and night. I often find them plopped over on the ground chewing their cud contently. It’s a beautiful time in Calaveras! The quince is blooming 🌺 Let the hardening off of veggies begin! Spring is here! And this year the farm has several expansions The joyful harvest of 4 varieties of quince in the home orchard. It’s not a lot, but it’s their 2nd year in the ground. We are growing 6 varieties of quince as a test bed for what will do best in our climate. Even on a year full of grasshoppers, and late snow, the quince seemed rather unbothered by it all. The last sunflower of the year🌻 next year we hope to make a large patch of them ✌️ Tonight we make pan fried tomatoes and pasta 🍝 #kitchengarden #gocalaveras
